Camp site renovations

The house addition prompted the installation of an entrance and a patio. But to keep the entire hillside from running into the lake, a retaining wall was built into an existing mortared stone wall and planters at the back of the house. The most challenging aspects of the project were the location of the septic tanks and the leach field at the top of the driveway. This made a tight work space that much more tenuous. Through the ingenuity of the foreman and designer, the septic tanks are now marked by bluestone pieces in the entrance landing, thus taking a challenge and turning it into an opportunity for added beauty.

Drainage through walls and under patios is always a challenge that SFN handles with ease because of the years of experience in the field. Drainage can also be an issue when planting in very sandy soil. The addition of compost and mulch becomes a necessity in those situations as it was here. The homeowners were thrilled the outcome.
